Tennis Clinic w/Murphy Jensen

ACTA with the Washington Kastles, sponsored by Cadillac, organized a tennis clinic with Washington Kastles’ coach, Murphy Jensen, 1993 French Open Doubles Champion, on Saturday, August 4th to thank the Doubles League captains for their hard work throughout the year.

The day started at 11:30AM when Trevor Chan, ACTA President, introduced Jensen to the participants. Jensen remarked how tennis has been great to him and his family and enjoys giving back to his community.

He’s gearing up the Kastles as they enter the World Team Tennis Championship Weekend September 14-16 in Charleston, SC on a 30-match win streak and two consecutive undefeated seasons.  The clinic kicked off with two courts of king of the court for players to sharpen their doubles league skills. Kelly Knygaard of the Kastles provided assistance. A service return challenge followed where participants elected to receive the “Monster Serve,” “Mercy Serve,” or a regular serve from Jensen.

Throughout the clinic, Jensen provided critiques and advice, most of the time in a high-energy, animated fashion to ACTA members. Watch out as these new skill sets make an appearance in ACTA’s fall Doubles League season!
