Arts for the Aging Benefit

Tennis lovers who enjoy playing the game and helping a good cause at the same time are invited to the 21st anniversary mixed doubles tournament sponsored by “Arts for the Aging” (AFTA) on Sunday, May 15, 2011. Participants play on private courts in a variety of locations from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Semifinals and finals are held at the Swedish Ambassador’s Residence. The event concludes with an exhibition by celebrities and pros, a buffet / cocktail reception, and the awards ceremony. Individual players donate $80 for the day; doubles teams enter for $140, spectator for $70 and feverous raffle items for $10 per ticket. All proceeds benefit AFTA.

AFTA provides artistic outreach programs specifically designed to improve the lives of seniors with physical and cognitive impairments in underserved day care centers and nursing homes throughout the metropolitan area.
