Lyon Village Tennis – Backboard Celebration

September 12, 2010 | By

Join us November, 14th at 5PM (following our Fall league finals) to celebrate and recognize the successful fundraising in support of a new backboard dedicated to Carl Diener. Carl was an avid tennis player and friend to many in Arlington’s Lyon Village. The backboard will be a nice memorial and a nice addition to the park’s tennis facility.

The “Backboard Project” itself is the inspiration of Addison Snidle, a local Girl Scout and friend of Carl. Addison is helping to organize, purchase and install the backboard as part of her Girl Scout “Gold Award” (equivalent to the better known Boy Scout Eagle Award).

The event will feature our own Matt Seiler’s Bandylions!  Refreshments will be provided by local shops and restaurants.

Special thanks to our sponsors!

Thanks to Arlington Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources for their support and the Arlington Sports Foundation for their backing of the project.
